Individuals
Required Personal Information. If you are an Individual, you are required to provide your complete and accurate personal information in your Partner Account; this includes your name, address, and a valid e-mail.
Partners Must Provide TIN. Spreadshirt is required by law to collect a Tax Identification Number (“TIN”) for each Partner Account. A TIN may be your 9-digit Social Security Number (“SSN”) or Individual Tax Identification Number (“ITIN”). Please submit your TIN in your Partner Account here: Account > Tax status. If there are any changes to your account information, such as address, name, e-mail, or TIN, you are required to update your account to ensure timely payment.
Collection of W-8 or W-9 Forms. Partners may be required to submit one of the below Forms:
- US resident and citizen individuals: W-9 Form
- Non-US resident individuals: W-8 BEN Form

Businesses and Companies
Required Business Information. If you are a corporate entity, partnership, or company, you are required to provide your complete and accurate business information in your Partner Account; this includes business name, business address, and a valid e-mail.
Partners Must Provide TIN. Spreadshirt is required by law to collect a Tax Identification Number (“TIN”) for each Partner Account. A TIN may be your Employer Identification Number (“EIN”) or Individual Tax Identification Number (“ITIN”). Please submit your TIN in your Partner Account here: Account > Tax status. If there are any changes to your account information, such as address, company name, e-mail, or TIN, you are required to update your account to ensure timely payment.
Collection of W-8 or W-9 Forms. Business entities and companies may be required to submit one of the below Forms:
- US businesses and entities: W-9 Form
- Non-US businesses and entities: W-8 BEN E Form

What happens if I don’t provide my SSN, EIN, or TIN?
If you do not provide an accurate and verifiable TIN: (1) your payments shall be put on hold; (2) your account may be suspended; and (3) we will deduct backup withholding from your payments.
In the event that (i) you provide an invalid TIN or (ii) the Internal Revenue Service (”IRS”) informs us that your name and TIN do not match IRS records, your account will remain on hold until you provide a W-9 or W-8 Form to verify your TIN.
What happens if I don’t provide a W-8 or W-9 Form?
Failure to provide a complete and accurate W-8 or W-9 Form may result in backup withholding tax. Learn more about backup withholding here.
Additionally, if (i) you provide an invalid TIN or (ii) the Internal Revenue Service (”IRS”) informs us that your name and TIN do not match IRS records, your account will remain on hold until you provide a W-8 or W-9 Form to verify your TIN.
